We are a growing, client-focused accountancy practice seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in payroll who is looking to work in a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients across various sectors.
• Managing all aspects of payroll including starters, leavers, PAYE, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), and year-end procedures.
• Ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirements and RTI submissions.
• Handling Pension Auto-Enrolment duties including enrolment, contributions, compliance declarations and re-enrolment.
• Liaising with clients to resolve payroll queries and provide ongoing support.
• Keeping up to date with UK payroll legislation and applying changes appropriately.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally within an accountancy or payroll bureau environment.
• Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and Auto-Enrolment pension regulations.
• Proficiency with payroll software (such as BrightPay, Moneysoft, Sage Payroll or similar).
• Familiarity with HMRCs Basic PAYE Tools and pension provider portals (e.g., NEST, The Peoples Pension, Smart Pension).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines effectively.
• A client-service mindset and strong communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

• CIPP Level 3 Certificate in Payroll Practice (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals)
• AAT Payroll Qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians)
• Any other payroll qualification relevant to the UK payroll or pensions
