Job Description:

Desktop Support Engineer

  • Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot all hardware (including Laptops, Desktop PC’s, printers, scanners, projectors etc) and software problems including Windows Operating Systems, Office 2007/2010, Adobe Suite, Antivirus etc
  • Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot all Network related problems including cabling, IO Port punching, Layer-2/3 switches, Wi-Fi devices etc
  • Maintain Inventory of all IT Equipments and Licenses installed
  • Basic administration of Active Directory, File Server, TMG Forefront, McAfee Epolicy Orchestrator and WSUS, Ticket System
  • Perform routine maintenance on Workstations, printers, scanner, network switches etc
  • Customize desktop hardware & software to meet user specifications and site standards
  • Coordinate with vendors for Equipment purchase and warranty claims
  • Assist System Administrator in routine Server maintenance
  • Take Backups of Servers, Workstations etc when needed
  • Take ownership and responsibility of queries, issues and problems assigned
  • Maintains and consistently demonstrates a general knowledge of company guidelines, processes, practices and procedures

Qualification & Selection Criteria

  • B.E or BCS in Computer Engineer from reputable university
  • MCSE & CCNA certification preferred.
  • 1-2 years directly related work experience in a technical support position.
  • Knowledge of multiple desktop programs, configuration and debugging techniques.
  • Strong work ethics, detail oriented as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound problem resolution, judgment and decision-making.
  • Experience with TCP/IP and general networking issues.
  • Experience providing superior customer service and support.
  • Experience working effectively in a team environment, communicating effectively, resolving issues efficiently, and contributing to the improvement of the infrastructure.
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills, successful in working both independently and in a team environment.
